What the panel is actually checking
Accreditation panels look for the core reading listed in the BMAS document for each programme, in reasonably current editions, physically present and catalogued in the library or departmental reading room, in enough copies for the student population.
Building the booklist
Start from the BMAS document, then reconcile it with the reading lists in your course outlines. Mark each title as core or recommended, note the edition, and flag titles that are out of print so a current equivalent can be substituted.
How many copies and when to order
Copy counts should reflect enrolment for each level rather than a flat number per title. Start sourcing at least one full semester before the expected visit: imported titles and reprints carry the longest lead times.
